It has been awhile
Just looking around on my bookmarks when I saw my blog page and realized that it has been almost a year since my last update. So I figured that I would give a quick update before I head off to work.
Work is going well. Just had my yearly review (my work does their reviews on the hire anniversaries). The review went amazing. I since got another 2 cats. Their names are Roxie (Tiger dsh) and Silverbell (Russian Blue Mix). Soon I will get some pics of them on here so you all can see them. Someday I will be back here to do more blogs. Life has been good for me lately. I still miss the kitties that has passed, but my 2 now keeps me on my toes and I know that they would not want me to be sad esp. Peaches.
I have to leave for work soon so I better end this. I will be back and will try to be here more often. I am sorry for the long wait.

In loving Memory of Peaches and Pepper
As I stated in my previous blog since November when I lost Alison, I have lost both Peaches and Pepper. I miss both of them and I also miss Alison as well. This makes 3 cats within a year that I lost.
I will do Peaches first since she was the first of the 2 recent loses to occur.
Peaches December 16th 2007 (gotcha day)-July 25th, 2018.
Peaches was a cat that came to us as an adult so we had to estimate her age. We estimated her to be 13-17. She used to be a street kitty that let us take her in on Dec. 16th 2007 and she passed away from Anemia due to Kidney Disease. In early July Peaches got real clingy and would need a lot of comfort. I had a hunch that something was about to start but I was just hoping that this was just a faze of her being real cuddly. Then a week before she died she started hiding and doing other stuff that was alerting me of her being sick. After a week, I called the vet and scheduled a visit which I thought that it would be ok. But I was preparing myself just in case. While at the vet they took one look at her and took her back for a in house blood test which showed that she had anemia with Kidney Disease. She was also dehydrated due to the lack of drinking water. She was eating some wet but other than that we rarely saw her drink. She also came from 9lb to 6lb. I could have rushed her to the emergency vets and tried to buy her some time like we did for Tigger (who passed in 2009). But with her age and health the chances of that working was low and even if it did work, it would have brought us another month or two. I couldn't bear to see her go through all that. For one she was a fighter, she survived the streets and the flood and I did not want her final months to be spend with blood transfusions and vet visits. Second I know from trying it with her when Alison was on K/D for a short while and she did not eat it at all. She hated that food so I know that we would not have gotten her to eat it. Third, with her est. age and current health that there was no guarentee that she would have survived through treatment. And finally she was already hiding. I was so afraid of her dying and not being found for days. (When Alison died naturally in Novemeber she died on the kitchen floor. It was like she went to get a drink but had to rest and then passed on) I know hiding is normal for dying cats so no suprise for Peaches's behavior. So I had to make the difficult decision to put her to sleep. This way she was with family. It was quick and peaceful. She was such a easy patient that at first they did not want to sedate her before hand but I requested for that to be done so that they did it.

Pepper was only 1 years old when he died from heart disease/thrown clot.We have been battling fleas for the Summer when Pepper got sick with flea Anemia. Unlike Peaches's anemia his could be treated and as long as the fleas left (which they did and we treated the house with stronger flea stuff than what we were using) and we should not have to worry about it. He got sick the day that Peaches died so that we figured at first that it was mourning for losing his friend. All he saw that she left but never came back. Well a few days later my brother saw some signs that this was not just depression and we rushed him to the emergency vets where they were able to save him. He came home after we flea treated the house with stronger stuff and he was doing better. Every day he got stronger and back to his own self minus litterbox issues which we would later learn was not his fault. When he was at the emergency vets they detected a small heart murmor. They chalked it up to him being anemic at the time which could happen.Well all was well until Friday evening. He went to the reg. vet the day before and his blood count was up to 20 percent (normal is 30-40% for blood cell volume so we knew he was making his own blood cells. Well Friday afternoon while we were out running errands Pepper's heart condition got worse. This was not a anemia issue but it turned out the heart murmur was from heart issues that he was born with. Well while we were gone he threw a clot which left his rear end paralyzed. When my brother saw him, he was a mess and when we saw that his rear end was limp we thought that he got hurt. Well we know now that it was a clot. So we rushed him back to the emergency vets where it was discovered the clot and that his heart was starting to fail. So even though he made it through the anemia, he was not going to make it through this and even if they did, he would have been left half paralized. So we had to make the decision and had Pepper put to sleep.
We miss them, but we did the best that we could for them.

An update on me
I know that it has been since November that I posted but life has been busy. I got through my internship and found myself a ft job which I am enjoying. I do want to do more blogs here just need to figure out what I want to write about. Life is going well minus the past 2 weeks I have lost 2 more cats. Peaches died July 25, 2018 and Pepper died August 3, 2018. I will put a seperate blog on what happened to them both. But we did get 2 new kittens Mittens (shes a tiger dsh cat which I will put photos up once I get them on my laptop) and Silverbelle (Russian Blue mix). I got Mittens to keep Pepper company but with his unexpected passing, we ended up getting Silverbelle as a buddy for Mittens. So far so good. That is going to be all for now but I will keep you all updated better in the future.

In Loving Memory Of Alison 2001-2017
Hi all, just wanted to let you know that after a short and brave fight with Lymphoma Alison lost her battle on Monday November 6th 2017. She was doing well with the meds for almost 3 months then the cancer started to get worse. She lost her meow and I knew she was getting weaker. By Sunday we knew it was close and I was going to call the vets in the morning to ether see if increasing her meds will help or if it would be better to have her put to sleep. Well Sunday I told her that if she needed to go join Ashes and Tigger to go ahead and go and that I love her. Well late Sunday night into early Monday morning we lost her. She went to get a drink, and laid down to rest and then passed away peacefully. I knew she was getting close but her passing was still a shock. She was still eating (although not much) and drinking was fine still so I figured that she had a few more days.We had her cremated and her ashes returned to us on Friday.
I love you Alison and I always will. I miss you and ty for the 16 wonderful years that we had together. I would have put this blog out sooner but I forgot that I had a blog site. Will need to check in more often.

I got some bad news about Alison my eldest cat
Alison is my 16 year old cat. Shes my first cat ever and shes a big mama's girl. A few weeks ago I was noticing that Alison my eldest cat was starting to have some old girl issues going on. I thought that it could be hyperthyroidism going on since its common in older cats and I knew she was showing some signs. Well tests came back that she was spilling too much protein and so she was put on a kidney diet, also her bp was a little high to be later determined to be just her being stressed at the vets. But they did rule out hyperthyroidism.
However they noted that her spleen was enlarged. She had that problem last year to and I was trying to save up the money for an ultrasound. Well I decided to bite the bullet and use care credit for the ultrasound. They also noted that she was a little bit anemic. Well we were told that with all the signs that it could ether be irritable bowel syndrome or lymphoma (cancer).
So the ultrasound was done and tests were done and the final verdict that it was lymphoma. It was affecting her kidneys,spleen, and parts of her colon. There is chemo but I can't afford chemo and with her age I wasn't comfortable of making her go through chemo with the results being unknown on how her body will hold out.
So the plan is now to have her on new meds and scrap the kidney diet since she hates it. The main goal now is to have her eat and take two new meds and the vet gives her anywhere from 3-6 months (could be more could be less). So I am going to enjoy what time that I have left with Alison and when the time comes I plan to have her euthanized and be right there for her.

It has been a year
Can't believe that it has been a year since my Grandma died. I will never forget the events that happened the evening of August 21, 2016.

We got a new kitten
I know its been a long while since I last posted. I just could not think of anything to post but a couple of weeks ago my brother got a new kitten. He decided to name it Pepper, and he is a handfull but he is a sweetie and so cute. Its been a very long time since we had a kitten in the house, and I almost forgot about what having a kitten is like (being used to my older cats). Peaches and Alison are slowly adjusting to him which is good. Alison is doing better but as long as the kitten does not get too close to Peaches she tends to be fine with him to. Here is a pic of him that I took a few days after getting him. I wanted to wait to be sure of the name before posting here.

2016 year post
In a few weeks 2016 will be here no more and 2017 will be here. Although 2016 was a decent year I did have both good moments and some bad moments. While I finally found a job, its part time and out of my chosen field but its a decent job and I do enjoy it. I will work there until I find a ft job hopefully in my chosen career field. I have not given up on that goal yet. Sadly I did lose my Grandma in August. She was 91 years old and died from complications of COPD. I miss her to this day and I figure that I will always miss her. Although I know that she was saved and is in Heaven, this holiday season is just not the same without her. At least I have my memories of her. Our area did experience another flood, although this one was not as bad and my house remained dry. So no damage for me this time around. I turn 30 on the 22nd which makes me feel old, but I know that I am not old yet. Alison and Peaches (my 2 cats) are doing good although Alison's age is starting to cause her some issues, but not too bad yet. But other then the 2 issues, she is doing well at 15. I did win an award at work this year as well and although it may not be something that I want to do for life, it is enjoyable.
At least I am making it through another year. Here to 2017 being bigger and better than 2016!

Update
Wow its been a while since I posted in this blog site. I was doing wbv's but I decided to give that a break.I was at times just copying and pasting a past wbv and just wanted to take a break. Back in August I lost my Grandma due to complications from COPD. She had a list of stuff going on, and it was her time to go. Then a month later found out that there is a flood coming which I got evacuated for. However, not as bad as last time, and this time I do not think it got to our house. I rather be safe then sorry. Thankfully we had a place to go where us and our cats and we should have a dry home to come back to. I am so thankful for all that has helped. I have a pt job that is going well. But I am looking for ether a ft job or a 2nd pt job. I like my job, but not enough hours, and not in my field. I am still looking and won't give up.
Hopefully someday I can resume WBVs when I actually do them and not just copy and paste a previous week's verse. I still read my bible daily, I just didn't want to do the WBVs anymore. I will be back soon for another blog.
